Personally, I loved the comment today by Becca at the Social Media Breakfast. She mentioned that she felt that Twitter is not what it used to be. She felt it has lost a lot of its effectiveness. She then caught me cheering in the back of the room and pointed me out. <smile>
After that, there were groans. There were also some people complaining on Twitter.
What do you think? Twitter is obviously not dead. But has it lost its effectiveness?

It's been about a year and a half since I did a little mini-rant on how we needed to resurrect this site. I'm so glad it got a face-lift.
Congrats to all that worked so hard on it. Who else thinks it looks pretty good?

This seemed to be the hot topic of last night's event.
For those that didn't attend, last night was the "2011 Charlotte Marketing Forecast" which was sponsored by nine different local marketing organizations. About 300 local marketers attended. You can read my full write-up of the event here.
Interestingly, about half-way through the evening, Lori Wilks (Sales & Marketing at NASCAR Hall of Fame) made a…

I just signed up for the "Surviving and Thriving in 2011" Mega-Meeting to be held January 12, 2011.
I hope you will do the same.

AMA - AAF - BMA - CDMA - IABC - PDMA - PRSA
Last year, I was happy to sign up and attend via the link from CIMA - the…

Fran Jeanes said… Looked like it was a great topic Thursday. Shame I missed the event. BTW, I agree with Becca's comment as I also feel that Twitter's effectiveness is not what it used to be.
Dani Burns said… Good to see you this morning as well, albeit too briefly! Things are going really well here - loving the new team at FH, working on some exciting projects. Hope things are going well with you too, sir. Maybe soon we'll have the chance to catch up for >5 mins. Take care til then!

Matt Brumbaugh said… Nope, I regrettably missed this morning, choosing to rely on my memory to get me there on the right day. Next time!
Stephanie York said… Hey Corey! I've been with the Sports Commission for two years. Unfortunately, I hadn't heard about the breakfast until it was two late (and per the multitude of tweets in reponse to the discussion it looks like I missed a good one!) I am planning on attending next months. Is there a set schedule?
