Hi,

does anybody have a MacBook pro for sale?

I'm looking for a 15", Core 2 Duo MacBook pro in a good condition for round about $500 to $600.

Best regards,

Stig

Hi,

Xmas time is comming and I decided to make me a Mac present.
It will be my first Mac - after some G4 experiences.

Now, I'm struggeling MacBook or MacBook pro? 13 or 15 inch?
I need it for writing, web design, some graphic.

Recommendations are welcome.

Thanks

Stig

On the apple store's site left column, or search for refurb and you'll find a link to their refurbished deals. Often change daily. They usually max out at 25% off--rare to see higher.

Andy, thanks.
Yes, that's something, I'm looking for.
Are there special refurbished dealers or can I ask the Apple Store?

Stig, if you keep your eye on the refurbished Mac's you can often get a rather good deal. I've picked up two that way over the years with no complaints.

Gill,

thank you for the details. In the case, my PC died in a smoke cloud I'll look for a newer Macbook - for me on XMas. The X - a sign! ;-)
So, if you know somebody selling rarely used Macbooks, fell free to tell me.

Working on the old Macbook is ok, really - but for my needs, I need something faster.

Stig,

The requirements for tiger are
- A PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor running at 500 MHz or faster
- Built-in FireWire (Firewire 800 Recommended)
- At least 256 MB of RAM, 126 MB can run it unofficially though (512 MB or 1 GB recommended)
- At least 3 GB of available hard disk space; 4 GB of disk space including the Xcode 2 Tools, 2 GB for the minimal install
- DVD-R drive (CD-ROM exchange was available; offer ended on March 20th, 2007)

Hope this helps!

Hi,

I was - and mostly I am - an PC user (Windows & Linux).
A couple weeks ago, a friend, gave me two Macs (iMac and PowerBook) older generation. I was extremely fascinated how fast they work and how easy to handle.
Now, I'm on my way to become a big Mac fan.

And yes, I have a question: Can I use MacOS X Tiger in the 500MHz Powerbook? Maybe with some extra memory?

It needs some tuning ;-)

Stig

Btw: I'm from Germany, so please give me some credit on spelling.
