Depends on what I'm marketing, but in addition to the items you listed, I'll add:

5. Follow-up personally with existing customers - make sure they don't forget why we're already doing business together in the first place.

everything but direct mail heels.com. our main focus points:
1. Turn our customers into our marketing department. Using passionate fans of our brand to evangelize and manage that process in a way that keeps it as organic as possible.
2. PR - getting press coverage, mainly through social media, but traditional PR efforts will abound as well.
3. Become a media outlet. Content is king (as the overused phrase goes) and we aim to build up as much rich media as possible over the next year.

I'll refrain from my mentioning my company's marketing initiatives here and just discuss my own.

1.) I'm going to continue blogging and creating content that is hopefully valuable to my readers. As my subscribers continue to grow organically I will continue to experiment with different forms of content. Ideally, I would like to utilize more brevity, but post a little more frequently.

2.) I will continue setting up various out-posts and building my community via social networking.

3.) To take a page from Eric's handbook, the way I follow up with customers seems (from my experience) to be relatively unique (though it shouldn't be) and I'll continue to do that. This enables me to build trust, and sometimes this is as important as what I'm marketing.

4.) Though I'm relatively timid about public speaking, it's something I'd like to do more of in '09.

5.) Finally, I want to help people adversely affected by this recession. This isn't for selfish reasons, but for the sake of transparency technically I guess it is a form of marketing.
